Yadokari-XG: A program for X-ray crystallographic analyses developed by organic chemists
Yadokari-XG is a program for single crystal X-ray crystallographic analyses, which was made in 2000 by Dr. Keiji Wakita,
a graduate student in the University of Tokyo at that time.
The Yadokari-XG was developed as a graphic user interface for viewing outputs of SHELXL97,
which is known as a world-standard program for single-crystal X-ray crystallographic analyses.
I (S. Akine) also contributed to the software development.
Notable features of this software are as follows:
- Display disordered structures in an easily-understandable way
by taking advantage of the SHELXL PART instructions.
- New algorithm for determination of space groups that can be applicable also to low-quality data.
Detailed statements can be found at the following program web sites (only in Japanese).
Yadokari-XG original version
In 2008, Ms. C. Kabuto launched a project for the software improvement with a support by
Tohoku Univ. G-COE. Dr. Nemoto (Kyoto Univ.) and Dr. Kwon joined this project.

After the project finished in 2013, the project members decided to continue the program support.
